Universal SNES Cable

Mike Chi has demo’d a project that would allow one RGB cable to work on all revision Super Nintendo & Super Famicom consoles.  Currently, PAL consoles and NTSC consoles require completely different components in the cable and aren’t compatible with each other at all.  This design will automatically adapt to either type of signal and appears to get sync from composite video making it truly compatible with every SNES out there.

I’m not sure if there’s a big demand for an RGB cable like this, but it’s nice to know that someone’s thinking about the issue!:  https://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=63337

Just to remind everyone:  Plugging an NTSC ‘csync’ cable into a PAL console will send 12v down the sync line!  This will surely destroy some SCART equipment and will probably damage displays as well.  Please be safe with your classic consoles!!!
